Sunday 25 October 2009 @ 10:48 pm

Gene Ween (also known as the Gener), alias Aaron Freeman (B. March 17, 1970, New Hope, Pennsylvania), is rhythm guitarist and vocalist experimental alternative rock band Ween. Next to his longtime friend and a group Mate, Dean Ween, Gene helped gather a group Ween.Gene and Dean met in eighth grade typing class in 1984, in New Hope, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where they both grew up. Both of them talked about the bands they loved and played his music. Gene was a bunch of tapes he recorded himself that he traded with Dean. Soon, Gene Ween Band tickets hung out and started jamming, recording most of what they put together. Ween took their music on stage, received as a shock and awe. Ween music eventually became a better control of the Pope and Diener, leading to their first albums and their transformation into full live music. When not recording or touring with Ween, Gene is also closely followed the solo career – sometimes playing shows around his native Pennsylvania, where he lives. Freeman has been seen performing with artists such as John Anderson of Yes. Freeman also recently begun Gene Ween Band event, where he plays next Ween bassist Dave Dreiwitz, guitarist Scott Metzger and drummer Joe Russo.
