Thanksgiving Jam, the names under which Portland, Oregon singer-songwriter Adrian Orange (1986) performs . Officially adopting the “nickname Thanksgiving around 1999-2000, Orange played experimental folk music, often accompanying himself on electric guitar. Although Thanksgiving is mainly solo act, Adrian Orange often collaborates with other musicians in his recordings and performances. Thanksgiving Jam tickets is usually associated with Phil Elverum (Microphones, Mount Eerie), who produced Welcome Nowhere and stated that “the best songs ever written are written right now, Adrian Orange”. Orange is also a member of the instrumental ensemble watery grave Portland and co-founder of Marriage Records. Thanksgiving Jam event became known as an avant-garde composer of folk in the vein of such artists as Phil Elverum, Will Oldham, (SMOG), and Jandek. However, since mid-2006, Adrian Orange played many of his live performances with nine piece group support, child Slavic Rebellion (lake). In their case, mature Thanksgiving songs recreated with rock and reggae textures, and as a composer, it would seem, has an orange under the influence of these styles. Following the course of 2007 under the nickname “Lyllyy’s Adrian Orange and, briefly,” Drone Bonner, with the greater Portland, OR experimental music scene (including members Rob Walmart, Jack Jackie-O Motherfucker, and White Rainbow “), Orange released more experimental leaning CDR “AJO” in early 2008. This is much more evidence of wild sound effects, long free-form jams and heard a strange song fragments than in the previous Thanksgiving and Adrian Orange albums.
Circle Jerks are one of those bands that you absolutely have to own at least one of their records.
