Reefer Madness (AKA Tell children) 1936 American exploitation film revolves around the tragic events that occur when high school students are lured by pushers to try “marihuana”: Hit And Run Accident, homicide, suicide, rape, and Descent into madness all come. The film director Louis Gasnier and starred roles are mostly unknown bit actors. It was initially funded by the church and made a group called “Tell your children. The film was to be shown to parents as a morality tale attempting to teach them about the dangers of cannabis use.However, shortly after the shooting of the film, it was purchased by producer Dwain Esper, who re-cut the film for distribution on circuit.The exploitation film The film did not get an audience, until he was reopened in 1970 and received new life as a piece of unintentional comedy among cannabis smokers.Today, it is in the public domain in the United States and is considered a cult film.It inspired musical satire, which premiered Off-Broadway in 2001 as well as film Showtime, Reefer Madness, based on the music. In 1971, Reefer Madness tickets were discovered in the archives of the Library of Congress, NORML founder Keith Stroup, who bought a print for $ 297, and made it the darling of pot smokers and college campuses. This modern audience, poor production values and replay a bustling comedy. Distribution of Reefer Madness to college campuses, the 1970′s helped the money growing film company New Line Cinema.Today, Reefer Madness is a cult, and one of the best examples of a midnight movie. His fans enjoy the film on the same unintentionally campy production values that made it a hit in the stage adaptation 1970s.Sean Abley’s, Reefer Madness event, ran for a year in Chicago in 1992.The film spoofed in the musical of the same name, which was later made into made for television movie in 2005, the basic features of such actors as Alan Cumming, Kristen Bell, Christian Campbell and Ana Gasteyer.
