Dallas Stars professional hockey team hockey based in Dallas,Texas. They are members of the Western Conference Pacific Division of the National Hockey League (NHL). The team was founded in 1967 as the Minnesota North Stars, based in Bloomington, Minnesota. Franchise transferred to Dallas in the 1993-94 NHL season. The stars have played from Reunion Arena on their movement until 2001, when the team moved to the center of American Airlines. Dallas Stars tickets won seven titles of the Division in Dallas, the two Presidents Trophies as the top team in the regular season in the NHL, Western Conference championship twice, in 1998-99, the Stanley Cup. Joe Nieuwendyk won the Conn Smythe Trophy as most valuable player in the playoffs this year. Brett Hull becomes the first player in Dallas Stars’ put into Hockey Hall of Fame in 2009.The Minnesota North Stars began play in 1967, consisting of six NHL expansion team’s. Home games were played in the newly built Metropolitan Sports Center ( “met the Center”) in Bloomington, Minnesota. Initially successful both on the ice and at the gate of North Star was the victim of financial problems after several poor seasons in the mid-1978-1970s.In, North Dallas Star event was bought by owners of the Cleveland Barons (formerly the California Golden Seals), Gund brothers, George III and Gordon. In both on the verge of folding, the NHL allowed the two failing franchises to merge. Joint team continued as the Minnesota North Stars, but assumed a place in the Baron Adams Division.
