Maria Mena

Maria Mena (born February 19, 1986), Norwegian pop artist.Maria Mena was born into an artistic family, her mother, playwright and her father, a drummer. Both Maria and her brother Tony are named after characters Leonard Bernstein West Side’s Story. Her mother is Norwegian and her father is Nicaraguan.

Maria Mena tickets father played in several bands in Oslo, which influenced Mena for creating and recording his own music. When Mena was nine years old, her parents divorced. She suffered from depression and developed an eating disorder.When Mena was 13 years old, she moved to live with her father. She sang and wrote songs as a form of self-soothing. “My Lullaby”, a song from the diary of Maine, expressed his pain from her parents’ divorce. After begging his father to make a demo, he got her to accept some of his contacts in the music industry to record a demo. He then presented a demo daughter several record companies. Shortly thereafter, Sony Music signed Mena their label.

In 2002 Maria Mena events released her debut single “Fragile (Free)” in Norway, but it failed to chart there. “My Lullaby” was released the second single and the song has reached five (# 5) on the Norwegian singles chart. He received heavy rotation on NRK P1, P3, P4, Radio 1, Radio and Oslo. Young singer quickly gained fans and soon received his first platinum record. After the success of “My Lullaby”, she released her debut album, one more stage in Norway, which has reached six (# 6) on the Norwegian Albums Chart.
