Eartha Kitt

Eartha Kitt Mae (January 17, 1927 – December 25, 2008) American actress, singer, and cabaret star. It is perhaps most famous for her very special style of singing and her 1953 hit Christmas song “Santa Baby”. Orson Welles once called her “the most exciting woman in the world.” She assumed the role of Catwoman in the third season of the 1960 Batman TV series, replacing Julie Newmar, who was unavailable for the final season.Kitt born Eartha Mae Keith on a cotton plantation in the town of North, South Carolina, a small town in Orangeburg County near Columbia, South Carolina. Her mother was a Cherokee and African-American descent and her father is German or Dutch origin. Kitt said she was conceived by rape.Eartha Kitt event was raised by Anna Mae Riley, African-American women, which she considered herself for her mother. Anna Mae went to live with a man, when black Eartha was 8. He refused to accept Kitt because it is easier complexion.Kitt lived with another family until the death of Riley. She was then sent to live in New York City with Mamie Kitt, whom she knew was her biological mother, she did not know her father except that his surname was Eartha  Kitt tickets and that he was supposedly the son of the owner of the farm where she was born. Newspaper obituaries of the state, that her father was white, a poor cotton farmer. “
